SKY PALACES
A mixed-use tower with 25,000 m2 of hotel spaces on the lower floors alongside a range of residential apartments and larger penthouses on the upper floors creates a new landmark along the Jeddah waterfront.
The project represents a communal motion of several blocks and their increase in size as they rise in height. The motion is captured by an array of sheets representing each time step, realized by the overhanging slabs, which in turn are being held by a matrix of thin columns. The elegance of the design explodes when this philosophy is translated into lively spaces.

The increase in the scale of each block on the higher levels maximizes the terraces and outdoor areas for the penthouses while providing smaller and more staggered balconies on the lower levels. A clean dynamic icon is born over the Jeddah skyline, celebrated with its floating sheets decorated with touches of green and a forest of columns.
